Worst written textbook EVER

I received this book quickly and efficiently from Amazon. The problem I have is the book: it is terrible. I have read quite a few textbooks, and I didn't know that there was a horribly written textbook until I had this book for my individual taxation class. Never buy unless it is mandatory for your class!

Although the class itself and the book itself is just bad. The book is great and it has saved me over $200 dollars. The book is in excellent condition and it is a hard cover as well. I am extremely pleased with book rentals from Amazon.

Great for Individual Taxation... But only OK for Corporate Tax

This was a required textbook for SNHU's online classes in Tax 650 & ACC 331.

The book was divided almost equally between Taxation of Individuals & Taxation of Corporations.

The section on individual income tax was straightforward for me, however, the section on corporate taxation required more effort in understanding for me. The questions seemed to follow the text closely for the individual side, however, the corporate side required more abstract application.

The chapters can be long. Some chapters are 50+ pages in length.

The content of the 2013 edition looked almost identical to the 2012 edition, unfortunately, I had to pay the extra $ to buy the current edition for the sake of the online class, otherwise, save your money and buy the 2012 edition. Naturally, tax laws and amounts vary year to year, however, I did not find the 2013 worth the 4x or more premium over the 2012 edition.

All in all, the Prentice Hall's Federal Taxation 2013 text is comprehensive and a great "go to" reference for future use.

Excellent and Comprehensive

This dictionary of the Irish saints is an excellent, scholarly work which has all the saints I have grown to love over my lifetime, but hundreds more I never heard of. This is a very worthwhile accomplishment on the part of the editor and writer, and I highly recommend it for libraries, colleges, universities, or anyone's personal library. Ed Sellner, author of many books, including "Wisdom of the Celtic Saints."

Fischer's overall framework contains an argument for the contention that guidance control, and not regulative control, is associated with moral responsibility, a sketch of a comprehensive theory of moral responsibility (that ties together responsibility for actions, omissions, consequences, and character), and an account of the value of moral responsibility. On this account, the value of exhibiting freedom (of the relevant sort) and thus being morally responsible for one's behavior is a species of the value of artistic self-expression.

An Excellent Guide for Guys

BEFORE YOU BUY: please make sure you are looking for a guide to being a new father! That is indeed exactly what this is. This book is *not* a continuation of Ben's other short comedies whose covers look exactly the same as this. Although there is a bit of comedy used in the delivery (pun intended) of this material, that isn't the focus.

For those who are looking for a male equivalent to the hundreds of books that are written by women and for women - this is it! It's definitely written by a man, for men. You will appreciate the honest and sometimes crude humor. Ben tells it straight, and he doles out some awesome advice, the kind that I wish I had someone tell me before my two kids were born. "Do not look at the vagina!" is about as blunt as he can get, and he's absolutely correct. Solid advice right there.

So all you new Dads or about-to-be Dads, go ahead and dive in. Buy this book and learn a few things your friends may not have the guts to tell you.

Brilliant and a must have for all fathers to be!

My first daughter is almost 4, and I just brought my second daughter home from the hospital a week ago. I wish this had been written 4 years ago it would have saved me a bit of stress, but it was great as a refresher for my new daughter. The topics covered are truly the things no one else tells you, and the edited "baby item list" is worth the cost of the story alone for the money it will save you. I can see this short story as a new must have for all expectant fathers. Keep them coming they just keep getting funnier.

An psychics humorous take on Astrology!

It was a fun and easy read. She shares her very humorous observations of the 12 signs of the zodiac (only the sun signs) based on her experience with them and her knowledge of astrology. The tone of the book is far from "politically correct" and written her with unique brand of humor. I loved it! Kept texting my friends as I read through their signs and will definitely gift to some friends as well. You could also use it as an entertaining reference book on sun signs.

I bought the kindle edition and it was cheaper than a latte which is rare these days with most kindle books.

About the Author
K. SCOTT PROCTOR, CFA, is the Director of Investor Analytics at SNL Financial, a financial information provider. Mr. Proctor was also a founding Principal of Vawter Capital, a private equity investment firm that focuses primarily on early- to mid-stage, entrepreneurial, privately held, technology-oriented enterprises in the healthcare, communications, and financial services industries. Mr. Proctor also served as the acting CFO of Illuminis, an Intel- and MCI-funded healthcare information systems company. He earned his BA, MBA, and MS (Management Information Systems) from the University of Virginia.

Good book that is helpful for an business student who needs brushing up on financial modeling. Helped me understand some new functions of Excel and how to jazz up KPI's. Recommend buy if you're looking to build a small reference library.

Very good structured book for finance industry employees and analytics, reasonably good examples of modelling with decent explanation.
Additionally Author gives away CD with all data and Q&A sheets for better knowledge retention. You go through the book with remarkable easyness and pleasure ;)
