It's hard to describe how mesmerizing this book is. For those of you who only know Roeg by his darker films, be prepared to be surprised. This is enlightening and light, lilting and deep, all at once

Until he begins to sound like Shirley MacLaine 's illegitimate brother, this is just a wonderful book. The last few chapters are all about the probability of past life experience and the fascism of the scientific method. It is sad that maestro Roeg is unable to bask in the glory of human achievement that was birthed by rational creative thought. You almost feel that he would be ok if they had sacrificed virgins to appease the gods during hurricane sandy.Two thirds of this book is a great read.

I recently read dark confessions, followed by decomposing head and finally this one(also have 13 tales) and I am happy to have found Vincent. I enjoyed all of his writing not a raisin on the grapevine. I look forward to seeing more and will not be surprised when his name becomes even more well known. Keep up the great writing and pick any of his works and you're in for a treat.

This was a good collection of flash fiction. There wasn't a single story that I hated, which is rare, and many that made me think or just plain wicked me out! I'm not too sure whether I'd read more from this author, but I would recommend this book. Nice, quick read!

Flash Fiction Collection

This collection of flash fiction horror tales isn't bad. It just isn't that good either. Flash fiction, for those that don't know, is very short short stories. The author limited himself to only 1000 words for these tales. The tales are not badly written, but most of them are just not original. They are tales that have been told before, or at least ones very similar to them have been told. If they aren't old material than they just weren't scary.

While I didn't find anything really memorable or outstanding in this volume, it was well written. Therefore, I would consider reading more writings by the author. But I would probably go with longer works where he could make the story more of his own.

absolutely visionary!

i knew as soon as i read the introduction that i would like this book, and the further i got into it, the more i loved it.

ms. christina has long been a champion for social justice, and this book, which often shares intimate details of her personal life, as well as addressing issues in the public sphere, affirms that.

as i read, i had the feeling of sitting at her table in a celebration of humanity, and as another segment of society was addressed and their triumphs and tragedies were expressed in her writing, i could sense everybody at the table sliding and readjusting to make a place for all of us to fit in.

the book is literally a blueprint for her vision of a utopian world.

i am not atheist, and i am not at all a leader, but i am a pretty good follower.

i would far rather follow a leader like greta, than the pope or certainly any politician, solely because of the inclusiveness that she works so hard to create.

regardless of if you are an atheist or religious, or of whatever label you choose, there is something in this book for you. it speaks to all of us, and nobody is excluded.

granted, a perfect world is not possible, but this book offers a lofty goal to strive for, gave me food for thought, and affirmed many things that i already believed, but didn't know how to express.

my only disappointment was that i could only give it 5 stars.

Naoko Minowa opened Studio A Week, a hand-weaving and vegetable dyeing shop, school, and gallery, in Japan in 2011. She introduced finger weaving to provide her students with an unintimidating way to learn weaving. She is the author of many books and chairperson of the Japan Senshoku (Dyeing) Association.

Good fun and easy to have a go.

Well if you are the same as me you would of heard of finger knitting
but I hadn't heard of finger weaving.
This book soon changes that.

The book takes you through each of the steps of finger weaving
and take you on a journey to create different designs.

With just a small amount of tools you can make an
amazing array of designs;

Yarn
Ruler
String
Water Bottle
Scissors
Needle

The designs are similar to finger knitting designs
as they use beautiful bulky yarn.
This means that in a short space of time you have a beautiful project.

Each of the pages are beautifully put together.
They seem to just have a certain amount of information
on each page so it's clear and easy to follow.

There aren't any specific yarns used but just the colour & weight
of the yarn to make the design.

I think this book would make a good present that
likes trying new things.
It's versatile and easy to follow meaning in a very short
period of time you can make the projects in the book.
Once you understand the technique you can also use
your knowledge and create your own design.

If you want to try something new that you don't
have a huge outlay on they you'll really want to try this book.

The projects are interesting and practical. I think that once I have learned one or two they can be adapted to other types of yarn. The instructions for the projects are easily understood, and the helpful tools are items that can be found around the home.

Recycled techniques using glamorous yarns = empty of content

This is not about weaving! There is nothing new in this book, if you already know about finger braiding as practiced in the US and Europe. Its very basic as far as technique goes, the only innovation is in using thick chunky fashion yarns instead of the finer silkier yarns used in the past, so its not nearly as complicated as braiding or genuine fingerweaving usually is. Its the sort of newbie class you take before tackling the real thing and is at about the comprehension level of the average 10 year old learning plaiting or braiding.
The projects are pretty, and up to date, though the techniques are very limited; there are not 18 different techniques in this book and variations are mostly of the colour change variety as in alternating colours individually or in pairs to create a pattern. One would expect something a bit more advanced for this price. As long as you can count and organise coloured yarns in a particular order to go over or under each other, and can remember the sequence and learn to recognise a simple pattern by looking at it, you will soon be bored with it. Its probably easier learned from a video on social media or a blog somewhere and the money spent on yarn, or an grown-ups book on finger-weaving, like the one written by Gerald Findlay (Fingerweaving Basics) or the other classic written by Alta Turner (Finger Weaving: Indian Braiding) and both available here on Amazon. Substitute chunky fashion yarn for cord thread and and you will learn far more from one of them than this shallow effort!
